Jaurès's assassination

Somehow the article fails to mention that Villain murdered Jaurès in Paris. And I agree that it was 31 July 1914. Dick Kimball (talk) 18:52, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Exact Date of Death

Though at the beginning the date of death was listed as Sep 17, 1936, which would've been 2 days before Villain's 51st birthday, but this section raised eyebrows---

On the afternoon of 17 September 1936, three bombers from the Italian Air Force had flown along the coast over Cala de Sant Vicent and bombed the town of Ibiza, which could be heard even that far up the coast. It is thought that the troops, on hearing the sounds of the attack, decided to return to the capital and tried to take Villain and his valuables with them. He reacted violently to this, and as a consequence was shot in the back, with the bullet exiting via his throat. Villain had only been wounded, but the officer in charge warned the villagers that had come down to see what had happened, not to assist or disturb him. Villain lay alone on the sand for two days until he died.

So if Villain was shot on Sep 17, but not died on that day, and simply lay alone on the sand for two days until he died, then his date of death would've been Sep 19(and coincidentally his 51st birthday) instead.

I think we need more conclusive proof on Villain's exact date of death---because it's not impossible that the date of death is not the same as the date one got shot, therefore we can't use the date he got shot as the date of his death. Bf0325 (talk) 02:54, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
