Update for political and charitable section for Publix.

[edit]

Please consider for inclusion:

Publix gave to the political committee two $25,000 contributions on December 7, 2020 and two $25,000 contributions on December 31, 2020, according to Florida’s Division of Elections campaign finance database. On January 5, DeSantis announced that Publix and the Florida Department of Health would work together to distribute COVID vaccine doses to customers age 65 years and older. Publix and the Governor’s Office rejected any connection between the Publix contributions and the vaccination program.

I also saw this article; https://www.rawstory.com/publix-vaccines/
But, I was actually thinking about making a sub-section about COVID-19 (including this story; https://www.tampabay.com/news/health/2020/04/30/last-in-line-publix-lagged-behind-competitors-in-covid-19-safeguards/), so it's more encyclopedic. I trust the reader to make their own political conclusions.        —  BoringJim (talk) 16:49, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, good idea, it makes sense to create a 'Covid / Covid Response' section which could include the Tampa Bay article along with the Miami New Times article in that section.

Perhaps the Charitable section could then include:

1. "Publix gave to the political committee two $25,000 contributions on December 7, 2020 and two $25,000 contributions on December 31, 2020, according to Florida’s Division of Elections campaign finance database." https://www.mynews13.com/fl/orlando/news/2021/01/14/publix-contributions-friends-of-desantis-pac

2. Also, if its notable, there is a report that Publix donated to the YMCA of Greenville in the amount of $8500.
